![]() Territory =Sundance Kid Apartment Building= ![]() Info: The territory of The Wolves is mostly the center of the city and a decent chunk of the east side. The building pictured above is the Sundance Kid Apartment building, it's located in the center of town. The main red building contains ten apartments, while the white side building that was once the owner's house has three bedrooms and two baths. Wolf, his sister and Libby live in the white, main house. There are also several other buildings and houses on the Wolves' territory where it's members live or work. These buildings include the library, a Kroger grocery store (mostly looted), a hardware store and various other places of little importance. =The Sundance Library= ![]() Info: The library is very much like many other libraries, with adult, juvenile, and young adult collections. Downstairs, you'll find the empty circulation desk and the juvenile collection, with a large story time room complete with a puppet theatre. The stairs to the adult and young adult collections are located next to the malfunctioning elevator across the lobby from the circulation desk. Here, you'll find a rather large collection of non-fiction, fiction, sci-fi, western, short story, and mystery books (the young adult section has the same genres available, the collection just isn't as large). Upstairs, one used to find numerous computers for searching and general use; however, after the virus broke out, most of the library's technology was looted, as was its vast CD and DVD collection. Luckily, for the blind citizens who might still be wandering about, the cassettes and cassette players remain. Now, the reference desks, circulation desk, and study rooms are devoid of computers and telephones. Libby ( =Sunny Times Alterations= ![]() Info: Down one of the deserted streets of Sundance sits the old store front of Sunny Times Alterations. Miss Cambridge once owned and operated the establishment with her old trusty antique Singer sewing machine but it fell in to disrepair during the onslaught of the epidemic it has since then been revitalized. It sits very close to the Wolves territory and is visited by all tribes. =The Watershed Hollow Farm= ![]() Info:The Wolves territory is not only in the city but also includes the 40 acre Watershed Hollow farm and the area surrounding it. A large farmhouse sits on the property as well as a guest house, a barn, a stable and a well. They grow a variety of fruits, grains and vegetables on their farm and end up supplying most of the other tribes’ vegetables and fruits. The Wolves also have a herd of wild horses that frequent their farm but they also have a few heavy horses that work the land and they are the ones seen grazing with the small herd of cattle that still remain on the farm. ![]() Territory =Mountain Lion Lodge= ![]() Info: The Mountain Lion lodge was the Country Club for Sundance before the Virus. It is located on a prime piece of land with a gold course, tennis courts, a pool and a stable. The pool although not exactly clean is still used for swimming and the golf course although totally un-groomed is still golfed on. The upper echelon of this group refused to live without the pleasures of life, even if those pleasures aren't quite what they use to be. The lodge itself is actually almost the same as it was before the virus as they keep it very clean. There are over 100 private suites which nicely now accommodate 2 or three individuals depending on the night. There is also the kitchen and the dining room. The main benefit for the Lions to have moved to the lodge, however, is what is next door. =The Power Station= ![]() Info: Located next door to the Mountain Lion Lodge, the Power Station is quite the self sustaining power plant. It was constructed by the _______________ family in 2010 and was one of the first Geothermal Power Plant to actually be able to support an entire city. Obviously there was funding by the Vance's when the Power Station was being built, but in the end they were bought out, which was fine by Mrs. Vance. Currently this is the Mountain Lions most valuable asset and they use it accordingly. At first there were issues with knowing exactly how the thing worked, thus power was always questionable, but quickly they got the majority of problems under control. Power can still be shaky, but for the most part it is stable. This plant is heavily guarded and if the people at it don't know you, there is no excuse in the world that will get you in. People have been buried in the mines for attempting to tamper with the plant and everyone knows it. =The Vance Copper Mine= ![]() Info: The Vance Copper Mine is an enormous open pit* mining operation four miles east of town. A rich deposit of copper was found there 15 years ago and it's success brought with it immense changes to the city of Sundance. Environmental activists originally protested the creation of an open pit mine because of the environmental devestation that those type of operations usually caused. However, the environmentalists lost to big money. Tyler Vance's (now Ace, *An open pit mine is just that, an open pit. There are no tunnels at all, just a big, deep pit. ![]() Territory =The Canopy= ![]() Info: The Twin Feathers control the forested territory to the Northwest of Sundance, right up into the Mountains. Most of their territory is open wilderness, but near the base of the mountains is where most of the group lives. They live in tree houses to protect themselves from some of the local wildlife and they have a chicken cope in the canopy as well where they raise chicken, whom for the most part are only used for their eggs. =The Garden= ![]() Info: The Twin Feathers grow all of their fruits and vegetables on the southern part of their territory where the ground is most fertile. Thus for the most part they are vegetarians not because they don't like meat, it is just harder for them to raise as they don't really have the area best to do so and they like being as self-sufficient as possible. ![]() Territory =South Side Hospital= ![]() Info:Desolate and with a look much like a war zone the Carrion territory is notorious for being the wandering grounds of the crazed barely living, known to the Carrion as the Shamblers. The Carrion make refuge in the in the only building on their territory that is still standing strong, the South Side Hospital. The South Side Hospital is completely boarded up and has stayed that way since the epidemic, but it has direct access to the sewer system that combs through the south side of the city. =The Sewer System= ![]() Info: The large brick sewer system is the system that was built before Sundance grew into a city. It is the remnants of an older world that no one alive remembers. Because of the way they are built they have found a new purpose in a very new world. As a city-wide sewage system is now a thing of the past, the actual system just sat under the city unused until the Carrion were pushed out of the center of the city over a year ago by the Mountain Lions. Under siege the Carrion found themselves stuck in the South Side Hospital. This is when an access to the old sewer system became a godsend to the tribe on the brink of extinction. It allowed them protected access to the city. Today the sewer system represents a death trap to the other tribes of the area. There are traps and explosives located in their paths and only the Carrion know how to avoid them. Plus, why would anyone want to go and find the lunatics anyhow? Better to just leave them be. ![]() Territory =Floating Territory= ![]() Info: The River Runners Floating Territory does not consist on any land, but instead of twelve boats that float on the Belle Fourche River. The are usually docked wither together or at a port, but are used for transportation along the river and are known for being a sign of trouble. Their kind of trouble is not typically horrible, but it is the type where you need to keep on your toes or when they leave you might find that some of your things have left with them, including hearts. =Winter Camp= ![]() Info: The Winter Camp is located off the river just east of the Mountain Lions' Territory. It is a very old house and barn and typically they spend most of the year stocking the barn and then all live in the house during the winter months when the River is frozen. As they tend to forget exactly how much they will need for their numbers most come out of the winters a bit thinner than when they entered them, but rarely do any stare as if nothing else the River Runners are resourceful. ![]() Territory =Belle Fourche River= ![]() Info:The Belle Fourche River is currently neutral territory and the main if not only source of water for all of the tribes except for the farm dwelling Wolves who have their own well. =The Trading Post= ![]() Info: The Trading Post is actually a small park near the Belle Fourche River. Like the river, this park is neutral territory. All of the tribes, as well as any drifters, trade, barter, and hang out there. There's usually at least one person there everyday but Friday mornings seem to be the busiest time. =The Outskirts= ![]() Info: A run down building to the southwest of Sundance. No one runs or owns this place. It's a main stop for Drifters, just passing through. It's usually pretty calm but every now and then you'll get some unsavoury characters stopping there for the night. |
