Questions About the Rules
1. Are there any other races allowed besides humans?
-NO.

2. Can I please play someone over the age of 27?
-No, you may not. Everyone over the age of 25 was killed by the virus, and as it has only been two years since the virus killed everyone off, the oldest someone would be is 27.

3. Can I have more than four characters?
-You need to read the rules again.

4. Will I really be kicked out of I don’t post for two weeks and have not contacted a mod?
-YES.

5. Can I post an AIM log pretty please?
-No, you have to write everything out!

6. Can I play a canon character from The Tribe?
-Absolutely not, please read the rules again.


Questions About Game Protocol
7. Can I put more than one PB on hold at a time? How long will my hold last?
-Yes, but for non-members the maximum is two. Your hold will last for three days. On the third day we will ask you if you still want the hold. If we receive no response in 24 hours then you have lost the hold.

8. Can I start my own tribe/gang with my character?
-Probably not. However, they will probably be positions open for each one of the tribes. You can find that information here Tribe Info. You can apply for any position that’s listed as open on that page.

9. Can I put a Want Ad in for a character?
-Yes, go here.

10. Can I play a Wanted Character? Yes, go here.
-Choose a character that you want to fill, contact the player who wants the character using the info on the Wanted page and work things out with them completely before you submit your app. Mods will check with people who want the character prior to looking at the wanted char app.

11. What can we post in personal journals?
-Personal journals can be used to post private (not friends locked) entries that you write as your characters. They can also be used for communication between characters (letters, messages, etc.).

12. How do week changes work?
-The Mods will post in the main community declaring the start of a new week in the game. After that is posted you can start as many threads as you want for that week. In the subject line of the post you must include the week number and the day of the week. Weeks will run from Sunday to Saturday in the game and will last two to three weeks irl depending on a given weeks activity level.

13. What can be posted in the main community?
-The only things that can be posted in the main community are actual threads. All letters and similar forms of communication between characters must be in their personal journals. All OOC things must be in the OOC community.

14. Can I make up locations in my post?
-Yes as long as it’s realistic.

15. Can I play with an NPC?
-Sure, just ask a mod to help you out.

16. Can I start an open thread or jump into any open thread?
-Yes, and yes.

17. How long do my posts have to be?
-Nothing shorter than one paragraph, and it’s strongly encouraged that you try to write as much as you can as long as you’re not just BS-ing for length’s sake. Suggested length is two paragraphs for an opening post and two paragraphs for all replies.

18. Can I have more than one active thread at a time?
-Definitely, just make sure you can keep up with everything.


Questions About the City
19. What is the terrain like around the city of Sundance?
-It’s a mix of plains and forests, along with the volcanic plug the Devils Tower protruding in the southeast.

20. What is the city like?
-There are still deserted cars littering the streets, trash, wild animals, etc. Only the areas directly surrounding the places where the tribes live are remotely clean and organized. There are a lot of older buildings, but with the boom in Sundance’s economy that happened before the virus there’s a lot of newer buildings and even a subdivision in the south.

21. How many tribes are there?
-Five and they are all listed here, Tribe Info

22. Is there a money system?
-No, the tribes exchange all manner of goods through a barter system.

23. What year is it? 2020.
-The virus broke out in 2018.

24. What are the established laws?
-Each tribe dictates its own laws over the people that live on its territory.

25. Where do the tribes get their food and water?
-Most water is taken from the Belle Fourche River which is currently considered a no-man’s land by the tribes so it has free and peaceful access. There is also a functioning old fashioned well on the The Wolves' farm. Tribes get their food from a few different places. Some of them are lucky enough to still have a supply of canned foods and government foods issued during the attempted evacuation/quarantine. Most tribes get their food through a bartering system, trading with the other tribes. The two tribes that live outside of the city grow their own vegetables and fruits, along with hunting and raising animals for meat. The tribes in the city rely mostly on bartering their remaining canned food and other various supplies with the two tribes outside of the city.

26. How do citizens get around?
-A variety of ways. The most used mode of transportation is walking, rollerblading or skateboarding. Horses are also used, but usually only by upper tribe members. Tribes and their members tend to monopolize resources of every kind so if your character is a loner and has anything worth something they’d better keep good track of it.

27. What kind of food do the people eat?
-The diets of the survivors are definately more limited than they were before. Obviously there aren't going to be exotic things like bannanas, kiwis, oranges, cookies, pizza, etc. Think of things that would be realistic to Wyoming like wild animal meat, corn, potatoes, etc. By now the majority of the canned food will have run out and the nearest town, Hulett, is 40 miles away, deserted and completely looted.

28. What kind of technology does/does not work?
- Most of life's greatest conveniences do not function or are useless now. There are no cell phones, no running cars, limited electricity, no internet, no television, no telephones. Gasoline and guns are two of the greatest commodities. While there are guns there's next to no ammunition so weapons are pretty primitive.


Character Questions
29. Can a play a character that is not affiliated with a tribe/gang?
-Absolutely, just have them be careful about whose turf they’re on. ;)

30. Can my character get pregnant and how long will they carry?
-Yes your character can get pregnant as long as the person playing the dad in the game agrees to it. Keep in mind though that pregnancy will take a very very long time to play out and you must stay committed to that plot once you start it. You can also bring a character into the game that’s already so many months along, or already a mother. It is also very hard for a female to get pregnant since the virus happened. Even if women and men were too young to die the virus still messed with their reproductive systems.

31. Can my character have their own business?
-It’s very unlikely that they would have their own business without being backed/protected/supported by a tribe in some way. So, if your character grows vegetables for say, The Wolves, then that’s fine.

32. Can my character contract the virus?
-Talk to a mod about this, it’d be a huge addition to the plot and we’d have to work things out.

33. Can I join as a drifter and then join a tribe later?
- Of course, just play it out logically!

Random Questions

34. What is this TV show, The Tribe, that you're talking about?
It's a New Zealand television show, go watch!

35. What can our journals be used for?
-Journals are to be used for one of two things. They can either be used to write personal journal entries, private, like your character is writing in a paper journal (there's no internet!!). Or secondly, they can be used to send messages to other tribes/characters. However, if you are using it to send messages they can only be tangible things like letters, boxes, etc. Again, there's no internet, cell phones, land line phones or postal service! An example of a letter would be as follows:




Then inside your cut you will post whatever was written in the letter. Ask the mods if you have questions about this or anything else.
